Pope Leo XIV Begins African Tour

(MENAFN) Pope Leo XIV launched his African tour on Monday, starting with an official three-day visit to Algeria, according to Algerian media reports.

He landed in the capital, Algiers, following an invitation from Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The visit represents the first time a pope has traveled to the North African country, as stated by a state news agency.

The pope’s itinerary will continue with visits to Cameroon and Angola, before concluding his journey in Equatorial Guinea.
